Care Group

Care Group is a community project created to help you get through the pandemic

Each of us will need help when the Covid hits so we decided to do something about it and started this project

The idea is based on the following:

    • Together we will beat the pandemic

    • If we all take care of each other we lessen the impact on the medical system and free our amazing paramedics, nurses and doctors to care for people who need their help

    • Unity and love for our family, friends and neighbours is a better approach

This is a local Western Australian community project and it is our way to fight the pandemic. It will be running as long as there will be people in WA who need help so no one will be left alone.

Care Group is your first line of defence against the pandemic

What do you need to do in a 3 simple steps?

Step 1

Select People

Identify 5 – 10 people in your neighbourhood and amongst your friends who you are willing to help. Ask them if they would be willing to be your helpers too

Step 2

Notify them

Let them know via text message, email, letter or in person that you are their helper when need arises

Step 3

Tell others

Share this page on social media so all will get help when needed. Let’t not leave anyone behind.

Why your own Care Group is super important?

These are a few reasons why you should not hesitate and organise your own Care Group now

Health System

If you don’t have the care plan, the only plan you have when you get sick is to dial 000 – which puts enormous pressure on our health system

Help Accessibility

If you don’t need an immediate medical help and you call 000 you are denying medical assistance to others who really need it

Rest

If you get Covid you need to rest 2 full weeks in bed (no exceptions) so you

    • will get well
    • don’t spread the virus to others

Help

If you get sick you need to eat, someone will need to care of your children, you will need medicine and support to keep an eye on you. Possibly take you to the hospital if required. That’s a lot of work for one person – and what if that person get sick?

Mindset

Healthy mind will help you to recover better. If you are not pressed by worries and fear your body can use 100% of its energy to fight the virus

Be Ready

It is super important to set up your care group before the crisis so you will get help you need in time

Data

Latest data clearly shows that less spread of the virus will lower the impact on our health system

Division

Legalistic mindset disregard alternatives and creates division amongst people

Helping People

Regardless if you get virus or not, you are showing others that you care for them. Your love creates strong society where people can together overcome any challenges

The Layers of Care

Be prepared. Don’t leave it to chance. It’s ok to show that you care. It is also ok to ask for help.

Care Layer 1 – Preparation – organise your own Care Group

If you want to ask them to help you add below sentence to your message:

Would you be willing to help if I/we need your help?

Full Message Example:

For people that don’t have or know anyone we’re working on the system to connect them with others in their community.

We believe that there are more people willing to help and we will meet every need. We must ensure that nobody is left alone when the pandemic hits. Nobody.

Care Layer 2 - Self Help at Home

If you are unwell and have a positive test stay at home. Notify your Care Group that you are sick and may need their help.

Example:

Hi, I just learned that I have Covid. I’m taking care of myself at home. I’ll be ok, but may need your help with… the shopping.  Love, Your Name

Help Needed with:

Shopping, Medicine, Food, Encouragement, Monitoring, Drive to Doctors etc

Medical professionals should call sick people at home about how they are doing. Possibly deploy a device that will read their vitals and send it to the central monitoring centre to alert the need for more help. Still at home, but not feeling too well.

Our medical professionals will take care of you from here.
